Cameron search leads to four arrests

On Wednesday, a search conducted in Cameron resulted in the arrest of four individuals. 

The joint investigation with Moore County Probation/Parole and the Moore County Sheriff’s Department occurred at a home in the 100 block of Samuel Medlin Lane.

“As a result of the probation search, detectives executed a search warrant at the residence,” said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a statement issued to Sandhills Sentinel.

Detectives seized suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, buprenorphine with naloxone (suboxone), and drug paraphernalia.

Crystal Medlin, 48, of Cameron, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep a controlled substance, simple possession of schedule III-controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Crystal Anne Medlin is also on active probation for drug violations. Medlin was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond with a court date of March 13.

James Britt, 33, of Cameron, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep a controlled substance, simple possession of schedule III-controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Britt was committed to the Moore County Detention Center with no bond on a 48-hour hold (per HB-813) with a court date of March 14.

Steven Smith, 43, of Cameron, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep a controlled substance, simple possession of schedule III-controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond with a court date of March 13.

Timothy Barbour Jr, 30, of Cameron, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep a controlled substance, simple possession of schedule III-controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Barbour was committed to the Moore County Detention Center with no bond on a 48-hour hold (per HB-813) with a court date of March 13.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
