A car crashed into J.B. Short Carpet One Floor & Home in Vass on Thursday morning. The vehicle crashed through the front of the store located on U.S. Highway 1 shortly after 6 a.m. The Honda passenger car completely crashed into the store, causing extensive damage to both the building and merchandise.
“On our arrival, there was a car that had been sideswiped, and the assailant’s car had crashed into JB Short Flooring and was approximately 30 feet inside the building,” said Cypress Pointe Fire Chief Mike Cameron. “The occupant of that vehicle left the scene on foot. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control.”
No injuries were reported in the crash.
The store was closed at the time of the crash, and the owners await a building inspector’s approval to reopen.Â
