Certified nurse midwife joins Central Carolina Women’s Health Center

Holly Drake, MSN, CNM, IBCLC, has joined Central Carolina Women’s Health Center effective Dec. 1.

A native of Detroit, MI, Drake worked as a labor and delivery nurse before becoming a certified nurse midwife in 2013. She moved to North Carolina in 2015 and worked at Women’s Health Care Associates in Jacksonville and Triangle Premier Women’s Health in Smithfield and Clayton before joining Central Carolina Women’s Health Center.

Drake received her master of science in nursing degree from Frontier University in 2013. She earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2010 and her associates degree in nursing from St. Clair Community College in 2008. Her specialties include midwifery and women’s health, and she is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), with specialized skills in breastfeeding care and management.

“I have a love for supporting families to have the healthiest pregnancy,” Drake said. “I believe in shared decision making and helping people make good choices together with the guidance of evidence-based practice along with their birth goals. I enjoy supporting all families and want them to have all the tools to make their experience their own.”

Drake joins the practice of Hakeem Yusuf, MD, Lakeesha Murphy-Spencer, MSN, CNM, RNC-OB, and Colleen Higdon, WHNP-BC. She is welcoming new patients at Central Carolina Women’s Health Center, located at 1140 Carthage Street, Suite A in Sanford.
