Crash near West End Senior Center sends one to hospital

One person was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in front of the Senior Enrichment Center in Pinehurst.

The collision was reported around 4:30 p.m. along U.S. 15-501.

Authorities on scene told Sandhills Sentinel the crash occurred when a convertible sports car failed to yield while turning left from the senior center onto the highway and pulled into the path of a southbound Chevrolet Trax.

The Chevrolet then deviated from the roadway, where it came to rest in an embankment along the road.
