Deputies arrest two after search in Cameron

Two people from Cameron are facing drug charges after authorities searched a Cameron home.

Crystal Medlin, 47, was arrested and placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $95,000 secured bond. James Britt, 32, was also arrested and placed under a $90,000 secured bond.

“On June 12, 2023, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office assisted Moore County Probation/Parole with the search of a residence in the 100 block of Samuel Medlin Lane in Cameron,” said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields. “As a result of the search, deputies seized methamphetamine, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and items of drug paraphernalia.”

Medlin and Britt were each charged with possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, felony possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Medlin was also served with a felony probation violation.

The sheriff’s department recently arrested Medlin and Britt after a drug investigation in Jackson Springs in December 2022.

Both suspects are due in court on June 28 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
