Detectives confiscate crack cocaine during traffic stop

Detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Department confiscated crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop at the end of October. 

Fifty-three-year-old Marcus Harris was arrested on charges of felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while license revoked.

“On October 26, 2023, Detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 7800 block of N. C. Highway 22 in Whispering Pines,” said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a news release. “During the traffic stop, Detectives conducted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, Detectives located crack cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia.”

Harris, of West End, was placed under a $15,000 secured bond at the Moore County Detention Center. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
