First responders were dispatched to the 3500 block of Busbee Road outside of Seagrove on Friday around 3:30 p.m. due to a single-vehicle wreck that caused a power pole to collapse.
According to officials, a Buick sedan was traveling north on Busbee Road when the driver ran off the edge of the road, overcorrected, slid sideways across both lanes, taking out a power pole before resting in a ditch.
Due to injuries, a landing zone for a helicopter was set up across the road in a field, and the patient was flown to a nearby trauma center. The driver’s condition is unknown at this time.
Responding units were Westmoore Fire Department, Robbins Fire and Rescue, High Falls Fire and Rescue, N.C. State Highway Patrol, Moore County EMS, UNC Carolina Air Care, and Randolph Electric.
