A driver passed away after a crash on Bascom Chapel Road in the Spies community near Robbins on Tuesday night. Authorities received the call alerting them to a vehicle down an embankment around 9 p.m. and determined that the single-vehicle wreck was fatal after arriving on the scene.
Authorities told Sandhills Sentinel that a Ford traveling north on Bascom Chapel Road veered off the right side of the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and continued approximately 150 feet before stopping in a group of trees. The vehicle ended up nearly vertical, wedged between the trees and an embankment.
The male driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was declared deceased on the scene. The crash report from the Highway Patrol identified the man as 31-year-old Prentice Jamall McCallister of Robbins.
The Westmoore Fire Department, Robbins Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Medical Examiner’s Office, and Boles Funeral Home responded to the scene.
