A single-vehicle crash in Lobelia on Black Friday sent one man to the hospital with minor injuries. The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Morrison Bridge Road.
According to Highway Patrol on scene investigating the crash, a Ford Ranger traveling west went off the right side of the road in a curve. After the truck left the roadway, it went down a small embankment before crashing into two large trees nearly head-on.
The impact caused the truck to roll over against the trees before returning upright, leaving it with heavy front-end damage. Two large gouges were left in the trees as evidence of the crash’s impact.
The driver was the only occupant and was transported to Moore Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
One lane of Morrison Bridge Road was shut down while crews worked the scene, and the vehicle was removed.
Responding units were Crains Creek Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and N.C. Highway Patrol.
