Man charged with passing $100 'for motion picture use only' bill at McDonald's

A 28-year-old West End man was given a written promise to appear in court after being arrested on April 21 for allegedly passing a $100 “for motion picture use only” bill at McDonald’s fast food restaurant in Aberdeen.

Marcus Bowser is facing a charge of felony uttering a forged instrument.

“Upon arrival, officers were able to locate the subject, later identified as Bowser, in his vehicle in the parking lot of another business nearby,” said Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis in a media release. “Officers made contact with Bowser, while additional officers spoke with the on-duty manager and began to investigate the allegations. Officers obtained statements and reviewed video surveillance. The bill, which was verified to be counterfeit and read “For Motion Picture Use Only,” was seized.”
