Fire closes Hardee's on Highway 5 in Aberdeen

Firefighters from Pinehurst were picking up lunch at the Hardee’s on Highway 5 in Aberdeen when a fire broke out in the kitchen on Monday afternoon.

According to officials, the fire originated in the hood above the grill. The hood’s automated extinguisher system activated, but the fire had already spread further up the vent shaft. Firefighters quickly brought the flames under control.

Staff and customers were promptly evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

Multiple fire departments responded, and crews remained on-site to ensure the area was safe.

The restaurant is temporarily closed while the extent of the damage is assessed and repairs are underway.
