Fire destroys home in Star

A fire destroyed a home in western Moore County Sunday afternoon. Emergency units were dispatched around 3 p.m. to the home in the 1400 block of Browers Mill Road in Star.

The first fire member on scene reported the structure to be fully involved. Multiple agencies responded and began an attack on the fire in the pouring rain, but it was a total loss.

It was not known if anyone was inside due to vehicles being parked in the yard, but once the fire was extinguished, it was confirmed no one was in the home.

Moore County Public Safety is investigating the cause of the fire. Red Cross is assisting the family.

Responding units were Highfalls Fire Department, Westmoore Volunteer Fire Department, Robbins Fire Department, Eagle Springs Fire Department, Seven Lakes Fire Department, Biscoe Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriffs Department and Moore County Public Safety.
