Four arrested one wanted in Pinehurst car break-ins

Four suspects have been arrested for breaking into cars in Pinehurst, and one suspect is at large, according to a news advisory from Pinehurst Police Department.

A resident in the Longleaf Drive area alerted the police at 3 a.m. on Thursday when they “observed a slow-moving vehicle with its headlights turned off.”

Police responded to the scene and arrested Devonte Erwin, Rene Pinson, Carolina Saavedra-Regino, and a 16-year-old male.

“A fifth suspect is still at large and we are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying this person,” said Pinehurst police. “Area residents with security camera footage from the hours of 2:00am and 3:00am on October 29 are requested to share any suspicious activity with the Pinehurst Police Department by calling 910-295-3141.”

Erwin, 20, of Aberdeen, and Pinson, 21, of Aberdeen, were both charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of counterfeit currency.

Saavedra-Regino, 20, of Laurinburg, was charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of counterfeit currency.

The juvenile was charged with multiple counts of breaking and entering motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of counterfeit currency.
