A Pinehurst woman who has been missing has been found safe. Corrine Ruth Silva, 57, who is believed to be suffering from cognitive issues, was found Friday morning according to Pinehurst Police Chief Earl Phipps.
A Silver Alert was issued Thursday morning for Silva after she was reported missing around 8 a.m.
A massive search was underway shortly after that with a command post set up off Linden Road.
Several agencies were involved in the search. Units across Moore County were working tirelessly all day and into the night looking for Silva.
Also aiding in the search were Richmond County K-9 units, drone teams from Raeford Police Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol helicopter units and Lee County EMS were searching nearby ponds with their boats.
Silva was found due to a tip from someone who reported seeing her. She is currently undergoing medical treatment.
