Motorcyclist airlifted after hitting deer

A motorcyclist was airlifted to a trauma center after hitting a deer Monday morning.

Crains Creek Fire Department announced the crash on its Facebook page Monday afternoon.

The wreck occurred on Morrison Bridge Road near McMillan Road outside of Vass.

“The motorcycle had hit a small buck deer,” said Crains Creek Fire Department.Due to the accident type and injury, Carolina Air care was requested and responded from their Aberdeen base. Cypress Pointe Woodlake station was requested to set up a landing zone at CCFD (Crains Creek Fire Department).”

No other details were provided.

Crains Creek Fire Department noted that Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol assisted on the scene.
