Foxfire releases police calls comparison for 2022-2024

The Foxfire Village Police Department reports that multiple village residents have received scam phone calls claiming to be representatives from Duke Energy.

“The caller threatens to disconnect service for past due bills unless they receive payment over the phone using a credit or prepaid debit card,” announced the Village on Jan. 10. “They additionally provide a call-back phone number that someone will answer “Duke Energy” when called. This is a fake number and is unaffiliated with Duke Energy.”

Never give out personal or financial information over the phone. If you receive a similar call, please call the Foxfire Village Police Department at 910.995.0174.
