James Charles Brand, age 84, of Vass, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
James was born in Rochester, NY on January 28, 1939 to the late Charles Frederick and Margaret Halligan Brand. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Armes.
He is survived by his wife, Elgie Hannah Brand; daughters, Kathleen Powers (Thomas) of Vass, NC, Julianne McCarl (Mark) of Rockledge, FL, and Carolyn DeJesus (Daniel) of Vass, NC; sister, Mary Lourdes McIntyre of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Gregory Powers (Jesica), Christina Harwell (Joseph), Timothy Powers (Rebekah), Daniel DeJesus (Amber), James McCarl (Robyn), Margaret Miller (John), Michael DeJesus and Olivia DeJesus and twelve great-grandchildren. James is also survived by Elgie’s daughter, Melissa Williams (Chad) and his life-long friend, Mary Zagari.
James lived a life of service to his family, and to his community. He was readily available to help those in need. James will also be remembered for his great faith in Jesus Christ.
