Myrtle Smith Collins Anderson, age 90, of Vass, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church Cemetery in Vass.
Myrtle was born in Moore County on January 3, 1933 to the late Duncan Smith and Margie Foster Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, LeRoy Collins, second husband, Bill Anderson, daughter, Vickie Collins, sister, Rebecca Arthur, brothers, Duncan, Jr., Robert Daniel, Roy Curtis Smith.
She loved going to yard sales, going out to eat breakfast and especially spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Ralph Collins of Carthage, Charles Collins (Barbara) of Vass, Wayne Collins of Burlington, Tammy Hodgood (Mike) of Vass, Kathy Fowler of Vass; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to FirstHealth Hospice for the wonderful care with our mother, and to her wonderful nurse Lisa Kelly.
