obituary Roland Davis Reynolds

Roland Davis Reynolds Sr., age 84 of Pinebluff entered into the gates of heaven on Friday, April 10, 2020 at Pinelake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage.  Roland was a dedicated servant of God and served many years in the ministry.

Roland was born on May 19, 1935 in Moore County, NC to the late Boyd Elmer Reynolds and Carrie Ellen Patterson Reynolds.  He was a faithful minister of Liberty Christian Church for 14 years until he retired. Even after retirement, Roland remained as active as his health would allow and attended services any opportunity that he could.  He served his community as well for many years as a volunteer firefighter where he served as the Captain of both the Pinebluff and Pinehurst Fire Departments.

Roland is survived by his daughters: Cynthia Holder and husband Joel of Cameron, NC; Sandra Miller and husband Jeff of Aberdeen, NC; and Renee Short and husband Tim of Carthage, NC; his two sons: Roland “Davis” Reynolds Jr. and wife JoAnn of Cameron, NC and Teddy Wayne Reynolds and wife Mary Kay of Aberdeen, NC.  Roland is also survived by one sister: Judy Freeman and husband Elon of Carthage, NC; four brothers: Bobby Reynolds of Aberdeen, NC; Gary Reynolds and wife Gail of Carthage, NC; Richard Reynolds and wife Linda of Carthage, NC and Charles Reynolds and wife Norma of Cameron. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren which he loved and adored.  In addition to his parents, Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Williamson Reynolds, a brother, “J.E” James Edward Reynolds and his sister, Jewell Mosher.

The family would like to acknowledge the caring and compassionate staff at Pinelake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care they provided to Roland while under their care.

A private family service will be held and burial will follow at Pinebluff Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Liberty Christian Church or the Pinebluff Fire Department.
