Terry Lee Medlin, age 64, of Southern Pines, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 with his family by his side at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Terry was born on October 20, 1955 in Moore County, NC to Bruce Alexander Medlin and Dorothy Riley Medlin. Terry was a graduate of Pinecrest High School Class of 1973. His father owned an operated Bruce’s Tavern in Southern Pines for many years and upon his death, Terry remained the owner and operator for many years. The business is still in operation and is operated by the family. Terry loved racing cars and was an avid Nascar fan and a Duke Blue Devil fan.
He is survived by his 3 sons: Richard Medlin and wife Tanya of Pinehurst; Jonathan Medlin of Southern Pines and Adam Medlin of Southern Pines; his mother Dorothy “Dot” Medlin of Aberdeen; and two sisters: Cheryl M. Smith and husband Mark of Pinehurst, NC and Dee M. Riley and husband Shawn of Whispering Pines; and his granddaughter, Loralei Medlin and his special friend Vicki Inman Frye. He was preceded in death by his father Bruce Medlin in 2011, and Richard and Jonathan’s mother, Diane Barnes Medlin.
Services will be held privately by the family.
