Obituary for Yvette “Ivy” Marie Strebel Scott

Ivy Scott, Beautiful Badass Unicorn Goddess, Animal Shero, Queen of Whimsy, Force of Love transitioned into eternity Monday, August 28, 2023 with her steadfast and loving husband, Clay at her side.

Born to Henry Martinez Strebel and the late Bella Antonia Villariba Paez Strebel. Ivy’s radiant spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. With her breathtaking beauty both inside and out, she was a beacon of positivity and love. Her generous and kind soul had an uncanny ability to uplift and inspire those around her, leaving an indelible mark on hearts.

Her commitment to community-building was remarkable. Ivy had a unique gift for bringing people together, creating bonds that would last a lifetime. As a leasing agent, she was the heartbeat of community and it always brought her joy to help families, whether it be a military family, or single parent, or an elderly person relocate and find a sense of connection, often going above and beyond with warmth and compassion to help newcomers feel welcome and settled.

Beyond her social prowess, Ivy’s artistic talent shone brightly. Her artistic expression became a gift that she lovingly shared with the world—whether it be painting a beloved pet, or being the mastermind behind decorating an unforgettable wedding, or designing a tattoo for a friend. Her art and paintings were creations from her heart, windows to her vibrant beautiful soul, spreading joy and happiness to all who admired her work.

One of Ivy’s greatest joys in life was the companionship of her beloved animals. Ivy was surely greeted at Heaven’s gates with lots of happy purrs and wagging tails including Boston, her champion Belgian Malinois, George, her first Bully, Willow (AKA Whompa-their sweetest great dane, Thai-Thai- their loving chocolate lab, and Syra (Clay’s blue doberman), and Dexter- the cat who acted like a dog. Ivy’s dogs, cats, and rabbit (Bruno, Henry, Lulu, Beans, Kitty and Samuel) were more than pets; they were her family–living their best life with her and her loving husband, Clay’s unconditional love and care. Ivy’s love and care for animals extended beyond her own, often helping strays and friends’ animals, too.

Glamorous Ivy was the life and light of any party! A force of happiness, laughter and fun, she was full of colorful sparkle, with an unforgettable sense of unedited humor, she was unapologetically true to herself and expressed herself with such freedom that you couldn’t help but love her! She helped cultivate your inner child with play, whether it be with tea parties, music and dance, or many kinds of creative whimsy, and crazy antics! She helped us to learn not to take life too seriously and remember to have fun, enjoy life, and build authentic connection and relationships with each other.

As we remember Ivy, may we celebrate the laughter, joy, light, and zest for life she shared with all of us. May the seeds of love, light, and magic she planted in our hearts and lives continue to grow and shine on forever!

Ivy is survived by her loving husband, Clayton Scott; her father, Henry Strebel and step-mother, Tita Rose; two sisters, Karen Strebel and Charlene “Lenny” Jackson; also survived by many other family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
