airlifted motorcycle accident

One person was airlifted following an accident involving a motorcycle Monday afternoon. The accident occurred at the intersection of Roseland Road and Kennedy Circle around 6 p.m.

The motorcyclist appeared to be heading towards Aberdeen on Roseland Road when it collided with a Cadillac sedan. The male motorcyclist was lying in the road when emergency crews arrived.

A medivac helicopter was immediately called due to the severity of his injuries. The patient was loaded into an ambulance, and EMS transported him to a waiting helicopter at Aberdeen Fire Station #2 on Highway 211.

Roseland Road was shut down, and traffic was rerouted onto Batchelor Farm Road while emergency crews worked.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.
