The second crash in less than a week at the same intersection near the Eastwood community shut down a lane of travel and caused some minor traffic delays.
The two-vehicle collision happened on NC Highway 73 and Beulah Hill Church Road just after 2 p.m. Sunday.
According to the NC Highway Patrol on the scene, a Toyota passenger car was traveling east on NC Highway 73 when the driver of a Ford truck traveling southbound on Beulah Hill Church Road failed to yield the right-of-way at the stop sign and pulled into the path of the Toyota. The Toyota sustained significant front-end damage from the impact. The Ford truck sustained some passenger-side damage.
Neither the male nor the female occupant of the Ford truck were injured in the crash.
The female driver of the Toyota was transported to Moore Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The intersection was partially closed while crews worked to clean up the scene and the vehicles were moved.
Responding units were Eastwood Fire Department, Pinehurst Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and NC Highway Patrol.
Just three days ago, emergency units responded in the pouring rain to a two-vehicle crash at this same intersection.
