One transported after Southern Pines T-bone

One person was transported following a T-bone collision in Southern Pines on Monday morning. The collision happened near the intersection of Fort Bragg Road and Indiana Avenue just before 8 a.m., resulting in delays to morning commutes as first responders worked to investigate and clear the scene.

Fire departments arriving on scene initially reported heavy damage to both vehicles involved, and first responders began evaluating the occupants of the vehicles. As a result, an adult male was transported, though it was unconfirmed by authorities which vehicle the injured occupant was from.

The crash involved a Nissan Versa and a Dodge Ram. The Nissan Versa suffered extensive damage to its passenger side where the Dodge Ram made impact. Airbags were deployed in the Nissan, and both vehicles came to rest in the middle of the roadway.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by local authorities. No further details were provided at this time.
