The North Carolina Department of Transportation will be closing Morganton Road at N.C. 5 to Monticello Road next week, said the Village of Pinehurst on social media Tuesday.
The road closure will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 8 a.m. and end on Friday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m.
Crews will be replacing a failed drainage pipe.
Additionally, NCDOT will perform shoulder work along Morganton Road during this time, mainly from Doral Drive to the traffic light at Highway -15-501.
“Drivers should allow extra time for the detour and be mindful of the crews working to make the repair and reopen this highly utilized route,” said the Village.
Businesses in that area will have access during the closure.
