Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of a Moore County resident following a joint search operation conducted by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections. This operation was focused on monitoring registered sex offenders within Moore County.
On Nov. 21, forensic specialists with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office arrested Donald Lee, 69, of Cameron. Lee has been charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and one count of failure to inform authorities of new or changed online identifiers.
Lee was committed to the Moore County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond pending his first court appearance, scheduled for Nov. 27 in Moore County district court.
“The Moore County Sheriff’s Office is an active participant in the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Taskforce, which works diligently to protect children from online exploitation and abuse,” said Fields in a press release.
