A Robbins police officer escaped serious injury after being struck by a suspect’s fleeing vehicle.
The incident occurred during a traffic stop in Robbins on N.C. 24-27 Tuesday afternoon. The officer was standing outside the patrol car when the officer was hit by the suspect’s vehicle. The officer was transported to Moore Regional Hospital for evaluation and treatment, but the injuries are not considered life threatening.
The suspect is currently at large. When we spoke with Town Manager David Lambert, he advised they have no updates at this time.
The name of the officer has not been released. The Robbins Police Department along with North Carolina State Highway Patrol and State Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the incident.
