Ross ready to rise with the Flyers

Sandhills Community College announced the addition of middle hitter Nevaeh Ross to the Flyers volleyball program. A standout athlete from North Moore High School, Nevaeh brings athleticism, energy, and experience to the front line as she continues her playing career at the collegiate level.

Nevaeh has been playing volleyball for six years and has earned All-Conference honors for three consecutive seasons, along with her team’s MVP and Hustle awards. A multi-sport athlete, she lettered in basketball and track at North Moore and helped her volleyball team to an impressive 22-4 record in her senior season.

When asked why she chose Sandhills, Nevaeh said, “I wanted to play at the next level, and SCC looked like the perfect school for that.” She plans to major in nursing, drawn to SCC’s strong academic and athletic environment.

Standing at 5’8,” Nevaeh plays middle blocker and is known for her speed off the floor and her ability to be a consistent scoring and blocking threat at the net.

Nevaeh is most looking forward to “new friendships and the team,” and also plans to play for the beach volleyball team. When asked what she loves most about volleyball, her response was simple: “I love everything about volleyball.”

Flyers Head Coach Alicia Riggan shared her excitement in a press release about Nevaeh joining the program: “We’re excited to welcome Nevaeh Ross to the Flyer family. She brings great energy, is highly competitive, and has a strong volleyball IQ. As a middle, she’s quick off the floor, attacks well along the net, and will be a strong presence on our front line.”
