S.P. woman accused of stealing $1200 in merchandise from Aberdeen business

A Southern Pines woman is accused of stealing over $1,200 in merchandise from an Aberdeen business, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.

Aberdeen Police Department arrested Jazmine Minter, 23, on charges of felony larceny, felony possession of stolen property, and resisting a public officer.

Officers were called to a business in the area of Highway 15-501 and Turner Street for a larceny in progress on March 22. The Aberdeen Police Department did not specify the business where the alleged crime took place.

“When Aberdeen Officers arrived, they obtained numerous witness statements and reviewed video footage to determine that Minter had stolen over $1,200.00 in merchandise from the business,” said the Aberdeen Police Department in a news release. “During the course of the investigation Minter remained uncooperative, however, officers were able to locate and return the property to the business.”

She was taken before a Moore County magistrate and was remanded to the Moore County Detention Center under a $12,000 secured bond. She is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
