Second arrest made in Aberdeen armed robbery case

A second arrest was made in an armed robbery case that occurred in 2023. Aberdeen Police arrested Jai don Nashaun Hines, 19, of Aberdeen, on Friday.

Aberdeen Police Department announced in a press release the armed robbery took place in the area of Meredith Street and Keyser Street on June 10, 2023.

“A male victim reported that he was robbed of his property while being threatened by two subjects with a handgun and an assault rifle,” said the police department.

Aberdeen Police began an investigation and obtained arrest warrants on Damek Locklear, 20, of Aberdeen, and Hines for robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a firearm, and felony conspiracy. Locklear was arrested later that month on June 29, 2023.

“Hines remained a fugitive and continued to be on the run until he was apprehended by Aberdeen Police Officers on February 16, 2024,” said the Aberdeen Police Department about the arrest without incident. 

Hines is facing charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a firearm, and felony conspiracy. His secured bond was set at $135,000. Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
