A local man was arrested for firearms violations and is being held at the Moore County Detention Center with no bond until he is transferred to a federal detention facility.

Sheriff Godfrey, in a news release, said deputies arrested Dennis James DeFranco, 39, of Seven Lakes on Friday.

DeFranco’s arrest “comes after an extensive investigation conducted by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.”

The news release went on to say DeFranco was “taken into custody without incident.”

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
