Wednesday evening, Southern Pines Police were called to investigate a shooting at Creston Commons Apartments in Southern Pines, behind the Belk Plaza off of Morganton Road.
According to Southern Pines Police Lieutenant Marsh, there was one male victim transported to the hospital. The area is still an active crime scene, and the investigation is continuing.
At the crime scene, there was a very heavy police presence with multiple officers working the scene.
