Emergency crews responded to a collision at the intersection of Highway 15-501 and Campground Road in West End Sunday morning around 11:20 a.m.

When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they found two vehicles with heavy damage and a debris field in the roadway blocking northbound traffic.

The driver of a Dodge and the passenger of a Subaru were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to authorities, the Subaru was lingering in the intersection after pulling out of Campground Road when the Dodge truck heading Northbound was unable to stop in time.

Northbound traffic was detoured down Campground Road while the scene was cleared.

The N.C. State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Pinehurst Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, N.C. State Highway Patrol, and Moore County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident.
