Single-vehicle accident sends one to hospital

A single-vehicle accident sent one person to the hospital Thursday.

Shortly after 7 a.m., authorities received a call of an accident on Highway 15-501 at the intersection of Red Branch Road, 5 miles north of Carthage.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a jeep wrangler was rolled over on its side with a single patient.

Air Care was called from Aberdeen but was later canceled. The male patient was taken to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Traffic on Highway 15-501 was brought to one lane of traffic while authorities worked the scene.

Responding to the scene were Carthage Fire and Rescue, Cypress Point Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and State Highway Patrol.
