Snoball season is here

Ice Breakers Snoballs in Aberdeen has been making people smile for over a year now. They are adding new games and will be featuring food trucks on a rotational basis.

Ice Breakers Snoballs offers New Orleans’ style shaved ice with over 500 flavors and serves sugar-free and dog snoballs too. There are 14 toppings to include gummies, sour apple, sour cherry, sour tsunami, fairy dust, a chili-lime flavoring, and marshmallow and whipped cream.

Co-owner of Ice Breakers Snoballs-Aberdeen, Shawn Finely, demonstrates how to make a rainbow snoball.

They are available for events and have been covering about 60 per season. They do weddings and other adult events as well as youth events. They were at NASCAR and the Coca-Cola 600 event. There is one snoball van, and the owners are planning on expanding to meet demands.

Snoball prices begin at $2 and go up to $5, and toppings are extra. The water is filtered twice for purity, and they make their own ice shavings to enhance flavor absorption and enjoyment.

“There wasn’t enough for children to do here,” co-owner Shawn Finley said about the decision to offer free entertainment to families in Moore County.

Finley said the sandbox in the free entertainment area was so popular they are adding another, along with two more basketball set-ups and a surprise game he is making. Party bop and kids bop sets the tone for fun as customers are handed their snoballs as they enjoy a picnic table setting surrounded by game choices.
