Standoff follows multi-county pursuit

A suspect was apprehended on Thursday morning after a multi-county vehicle pursuit ended in a crash. Deputies from both Moore and Harnett counties responded to the incident, which resulted in a temporary standoff between the suspect and authorities.

The chase led Harnett County law enforcement into Moore County and ended when the suspect’s Ford veered from the roadway and crashed. The vehicle left visible skid marks on the roadway before coming to rest on its side near the intersection of Marks Road and McPherson Road, close to the Vass-Cameron line.

After the crash, the suspect reportedly refused to exit the vehicle. Officers held the individual at gunpoint for approximately 10 to 15 minutes until the situation was successfully de-escalated.
