Taylortown joins CPRC as 50th member government

Taylortown joined the Central Pines Regional Council (CPRC) as its 50th member. The CPRC Board of Delegates unanimously voted to accept the town’s request for membership at its April 23 meeting. The organization’s membership has grown 75% in the last decade, highlighting the growing desire by local governments to learn from one another, gain access to more resources as they experience population growth, and invest in the collective success of our region.

“The decision to request membership highlights Taylortown Council’s commitment to regional collaboration with neighboring municipalities and counties to address shared challenges and opportunities,” said CPRC in a media release.

“We are excited about becoming a member and looking forward to all the awesome things Central Pines, as our partner, can help us do to preserve our history and reach our 21st-century goals,” said Taylortown Mayor Pro Tem Shirlyn Moody.

As a member, Taylortown will have access to CPRC’s array of services, including planning and zoning support, finance services, strategic planning, data analysis and participation in peer networks. Each member government also holds a seat on the CPRC Governing Board, ensuring representation in decision-making processes and driving the organization’s focus areas.

“As we grow, our municipalities and counties are more connected now than ever before. We are so excited to have Taylortown join the other 49 local governments as members of Central Pines Regional Council,” said Central Pines Chair Brett Gantt, Town of Apex. “CPRC continues to strengthen its mission of fostering a thriving region by providing regional policy, collaboration, and technical assistance to support the growth and sustainability of its member communities.”
