A CSX freight train transporting coal ash derailed in Pinebluff early Monday morning around 5 a.m. There were no injuries reported. The engine of the freight train stopped just north of the Pinebluff Lake Road crossing with the end of the train about a quarter of a mile from the Addor Road crossing. There were reportedly a total of eight train cars that derailed. There was no spillage of the coal ash reported. CSX was immediately on the scene investigating the accident. CSX crews are expected from Richmond, Virginia later today that will begin the cleanup and repair process. The Pinebluff Lake Road crossing is expected to remain closed throughout the day.
