Family searching for missing teen

UPDATE: Mateo Jamies has been found and is safe.

A family is searching for their missing relative. Mateo Jaimes left his home at Brookside Park Apartments in Southern Pines off Morganton Road at 3:30 a.m. March 31 and has not been seen since. Mateo left a note saying he was running away and told a friend he was a mile from home.

Mateo is 5’9,” 13 years old, and is believed to have a black school bag. He was wearing a red shirt, gray shorts and a hoodie.
