A collision at the crossover intersection in Carthage caused delays on U.S. 15-501 South Friday morning. The crash, involving a Penske truck and a BMW SUV, happened just before 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 15-501 and Monroe Street.

Authorities on the scene said that the Penske truck was heading north and crossing over U.S. 15-501 south, and it appears that the SUV was continuing south on 15-501 when the collision occurred.

“Two drivers were involved, both with minor injuries,” Carthage Fire Chief Brian Tyner told Sandhills Sentinel. According to Tyner, the female driver of the BMW was taken by Moore County EMS to Moore Regional Hospital. The male driver of the Penske truck was checked by EMS at the scene.
