Two arrested in auto parts theft investigation

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced two arrests following an investigation in the West End area of Moore County.

On April 21, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a larceny of automotive parts from a vehicle at a residence in West End. Sheriff’s investigators identified two suspects after speaking with witnesses in the area.

On April 22, investigators arrested Rodney Collins, 51, of Carthage. Collins was charged with three counts of felony injuring property to obtain nonferrous metals, three counts of felony possession of stolen goods, and three counts of misdemeanor injury to personal property and was released under a $20,000 unsecured bond pending a first court appearance in Moore County District Court on May 12.

On April 28, investigators arrested Fred Ensley Jr., 56, of West End. Ensley was charged with three counts of felony injuring property to obtain nonferrous metals, three counts of felony possession of stolen goods, and three counts of misdemeanor injury to personal property and was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond pending a first court appearance in Moore County District Court on May 12.

Both suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
