Two separate collisions during the evening commute caused significant traffic delays in Aberdeen. Both collisions occurred along U.S. Highway 15-501, involved rear-end impacts, and happened within thirty minutes of each other.
The first crash happened south of Aberdeen near Hight Road when a Hyundai Accent rear-ended a pickup truck. Both vehicles were traveling southbound at the time of the collision.
One person was transported to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
Approximately 20 minutes later, another collision occurred on U.S. 1/15-501 in front of Texas Roadhouse in Aberdeen. This three-vehicle collision involved a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which sustained minimal rear-end damage, a Ford sedan that struck the Jeep, and a Honda SUV that rear-ended the Ford. No serious injuries were reported.

Aberdeen Police Department is investigating the second crash.
Responding to both incidents were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue and Moore County EMS.
