Village seeks applications for council member appointment

The Village of Pinehurst Council will appoint a Pinehurst resident to fill the empty council seat after Jane Hogeman’s death earlier this month.

By North Carolina law, the Village Council will appoint a council member to fill the vacant position to serve the remainder of Hogeman’s term, which expires Nov. 30.

Over the next couple of weeks, the Village Council will accept applications from residents interested in appointment as a council member. Those applicants will be interviewed during a public meeting in August or September. The council will make the final appointment decision through a simple majority vote.

Residents interested in serving on the Village Council should request an application from Village Clerk Kelly Chance at 910-295-1900 or [email protected]. Those seeking the appointment should return the completed application to Kelly Clerk via email or in person at 395 Magnolia Rd.

Applications for Village Council appointment will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Friday, August 11.
