A wreck involving a trailer loaded with construction supplies shut down a section of Highway 211, south of Aberdeen, leaving a 50-foot debris field in the road on Friday afternoon just inside Hoke County.
According to witnesses, a passenger car and a truck were traveling in opposite directions. As they passed each other, the car crossed the double yellow line and struck a trailer being pulled by the truck.
The impact sheared off both axles and split the trailer open, spilling tools and debris. The Ford F-150 pulling the trailer was able to come to a stop beside the road. The car that struck the trailer came to rest in the road some distance away.

EMS transported two people to the hospital with injuries.
The N.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Hoke County EMS, Hoke County Sheriff’s Department, and the N.C. Highway Patrol.
