Three men are going to prison after separate crime investigations conducted by Aberdeen, Southern Pines, and Pinehurst Police Departments, and the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 10th, Jonathan Vaughn, age 41 of Southern Pines, was sentenced to two consecutive prison terms totaling 3.16 – 5.3 years, according to District Attorney Maureen Krueger. Vaughn pled guilty to fourteen counts of financial identity theft, one county of obtaining property by false pretense, one count of financial card theft and one count of breaking into a motor vehicle after a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving the Aberdeen Police Department, Southern Pines Police Department, and the Pinehurst Police Department.

In a second separate case, Bradley Hill, age 22 of Southern Pines, also was sentenced to two consective prison terms totaling 1.3 – 3.16 years. According to the news release, Hill pled guilty to obtaining property by false pretense and parole violation.  Moore County Detective Jerico Lowery led the investigation on Hill, and recovered the stolen property in the case.

The third investigation was conducted by Aberdeen Police Department’s Detective Randy Plowman which resulted in an 8-19 months prison sentence for Tashaun Cheek, age 23 of Asheboro.  Cheek pled guilty to retail felony larceny.
