Anthony Millington opened A & A Automotive a year and a half ago and plans on keeping his business “home-run” even if it grows exponentially.
A & A Automotive offers service and repair work on all makes and models of vehicles including bodywork and tires. Repair work also extends to diesel engines.
As a certified auto technician, Millington began his learning by working alongside his dad growing up.
“I had a bad wreck in a car I put together, and mom asked me to stop racing,” Millington stated. “I started as a mobile mechanic while working at Advance Auto and ran out of time to work on people’s cars, so I opened this shop,” Millington said. “As business has grown, I have had to bring in help.”
Billy Tingle, an employee of Millington’s, said he had also started working on cars as a youngster.
Millington named his business after himself, Anthony, and his daughter, Alyssa, who also helps.
“I sweep around here sometimes,” seven-year-old Alyssa said.
Dixie Dog, a medium-sized black and white part cattle dog, keeps Alyssa company and does what dogs do best, makes people smile.
Millington grew up in Florida, moved to Horry County, South Carolina then to Moore County.
“My mom, Dawn Ahner, came here for the horse industry as she was helping at USEF/USDF dressage shows, and I decided to move as well,” Millington explained.
A & A Automotive offers a 10% discount on labor to active duty military and a 15% client referral discount on labor with next service.
