Aberdeen man facing charges in breaking and entering case

An Aberdeen man is facing charges following a reported breaking and entering incident earlier in December, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.

Police said officers responded Dec. 17 to a residence near the intersection of Woodgreen Drive and Bradford Drive after receiving a call reporting a breaking and entering in progress. The caller reportedly told dispatchers she was not home at the time but was watching live surveillance footage that showed a man entering her residence.

According to police, officers were given a description of the suspect and located a man matching that description about a block away. The individual, later identified as Christopher Keith, 37, was detained while officers continued their investigation.

Police said the homeowner returned to the residence, where officers reviewed surveillance video that allegedly showed Keith manipulating the lock on a rear door before entering the home. The video reportedly showed the suspect taking two items from inside the residence and exiting through the same door.

Keith was arrested and is facing charges of felony breaking and entering and felony larceny.

He was taken before a Moore County magistrate and given a $10,000 secured bond.

All suspects and persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
