Authorities arrest suspect after bank robbery in Seven Lakes

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office responded late Tuesday morning to a robbery at the Truist Bank on Lakeway Drive in the Seven Lakes community in West End.

According to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses told investigators that a female entered the bank, demanded money, and claimed to be armed with a firearm. The suspect fled the bank on foot after taking cash from the clerk.

Deputies established a wide search area after the suspect fled the bank. A BOLO issued over the radio described the suspect as a “heavyset” Black female with brown curly hair, about 5 feet 3 inches tall, and wearing a gray toboggan.

Radio traffic indicated deputies checked nearby wooded areas and searched for heat signatures as they looked for the woman.

“Deputies quickly gathered evidence and developed a suspect in the case,” reported the Sheriff’s Office in a press release. “Shortly before 1:00 p.m., investigators located the individual responsible for the robbery and took her into custody without incident.”

Later, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 24-year-old Lyrical Yes’mean Tanner of West End in connection with the robbery.

Tanner is facing charges of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony possession of stolen goods, felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance and one count of possession of Schedule VI controlled substance.

During Tanner’s arrest, investigators reportedly recovered a BB gun along with cash alleged to have been taken from the bank.

“Sheriff Ronnie Fields extends his appreciation to the surrounding Seven Lakes businesses whose timely assistance and information supported investigators in resolving this case quickly,” says the Sheriff’s Office in a press release. “Their cooperation contributed significantly to the swift apprehension of the suspect.”

Tanner was committed to the Moore County Detention Center without bond, and she is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on January 7, 2026.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
