Ian Hicks, 10, of Aberdeen, swam in the North Carolina Age Group Championships in Raleigh on February 16-17.
He competed in both the 50 and 100 yard breaststroke events.
Ian swam a 1:25.77 in the 100 yard breaststroke finishing 15th in the state. This time also qualified him to swim in the multi-state Southeastern Championships.
He will swim in Atlanta in March representing the Pinehurst Area Swim Team (PAST) from Seven Lakes.
