Two Greensboro men have been charged in connection with the burglary of an Aberdeen smoke shop that resulted in the theft of more than $9,000 worth of cigarette cartons, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.
Police said officers responded Oct. 3, 2025, to NC Smoke and Vape after receiving a report that a window had been removed from the business and merchandise stolen.
Investigators determined that more than $9,000 in cigarette cartons had been taken during the break-in, authorities said. Officers reviewed surveillance footage and processed the scene for evidence.
According to police, the investigation revealed similar burglaries had been reported by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Greensboro Police Department, Holly Springs Police Department, and Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said investigators identified Beroy Reid Jr., 52, and Bobby Williams Jr., 45, both of Greensboro, as suspects through intelligence sharing and collaboration with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and Wake County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 3, investigators obtained warrants charging Williams with felony breaking and entering, felony conspiracy, and felony possession of stolen goods.
Reid was charged with felony aiding and abetting, felony conspiracy, and felony possession of stolen goods.
Police said Reid was located at the Lee County Jail and served with the warrants by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Williams was located at the Rockingham County Jail, where the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office served the warrants.
Both men were ordered held without bond due to pending charges from other jurisdictions, authorities said.
All charges are allegations, and Reid and Williams are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
